Advanced surf courses are taught exclusively in small groups, usually with a maximum of 3 participants per instructor. Have you already completed a few surf courses and feel confident with the techniques from the intermediate surf course? Then you are ready for an advanced surf course.
Some surfers stay at the same level for years and their learning curve starts to stagnate. In this case, it can be extremely helpful to talk to a trainer – a real expert who can look at your surfing objectively from the outside. In most cases, small adjustments can make a big difference. Even if you “only” learn a new manoeuvre and have more fun surfing as a result, the course has already been worthwhile.
Other surfers simply need to step outside their own comfort zone. This is something we can discuss with you beforehand.

Before the course, we discuss your breathing technique, how you can hold your breath for longer and how you can remain calm and relaxed in the water. You will learn how to read the direction of the wave and how to stay in the pocket of the wave so that you can make better use of its power. We work on using the wave from top to bottom and practise positioning ourselves along the high line of the wave to place our manoeuvres more effectively. We try different wave shapes and practise top turns, cutbacks and tighter turns. In short theory sessions, we also learn how to understand and interpret the surf forecast better.

Together, we work on your overall style, posture, confidence and awareness in the water. During the advanced surf course, you can try out different hardboards with us. This includes different board styles such as single fins, twin fins and mid-lengths. While testing them, you will also gain a better understanding of why different board shapes are designed the way they are.
We will also take several photos of you during the course. This means that your trainer cannot be in the water with you all the time, but it allows us to observe your surfing closely from the outside and also see you from the front. Of course, you will also learn how to handle yourself independently in the line-up. But don't worry – when we surf a new spot or session with you for the first time, we will always go into the water with you until you feel confident enough to manage it on your own.
