ADVANCED SURF COURSE: FINE-TUNING AND OPTIMISING STYLE
Advanced surf courses are taught exclusively in small groups. Usually with a maximum of 3 participants to one instructor. Have you already done a few surf courses and are confident in the techniques of the intermediate surf course? Then you are ready for an advanced surf course.
Some surfers stay at the same level for years and their learning curve stagnates. It is therefore extremely helpful to talk about this with a trainer, a real expert like us. In most cases, you can achieve a lot with small adjustments and an outsider who looks at this objectively. Even if you ‘only’ learn a new manoeuvre and have more fun surfing again as a result, it's already been worth it. Other surfers, on the other hand, simply need to get out of their own comfort zone and this should be discussed in advance.
What are your wishes, where do you see yourself and what exactly do you want to achieve?
Before the courses, we discuss your breathing, how you can hold your breath longer and how you can stay calmer in the water.
You will learn how to read the direction of the wave and how to stay in the pocket of the wave so that you can utilise most of the wave's power. We use the waves and surf them top to bottom, we practice this over the highline of the wave to better place our manoeuvres. We try to find and surf different wave shapes and practise top turns, cut backs and tighter turns. In small theoretical units we learn to better understand the forecast.
Together we will strengthen your overall style, your posture, your demeanour, your confidence and your overview in the water. You can try out different hardboards with us in the advanced surf course. This also includes different styles such as single, twin fins, mid lenghts etc. While testing, you will also understand why the board shapes are built so differently.
If you are thinking about buying your first board, we will be happy to help you find the perfect board and order it from a local shaper we trust.
We will take several pictures of you during the course, so your trainer will not be able to be in the water all the time. However, this allows your trainer to observe you closely and see you from the front. Of course, you will also learn to assert yourself alone in the line-up. But don't worry, in the beginning we will of course always go into the water with you for new spots and sessions until you are doing well.
